Each piece of equipment on display has a sign with its history and significance. I give a precis of that plus other details not on the sign. However, when the car is operating, its sign is left in front of its empty space in the barn. So maybe having handouts would be useful. The problem would be, a lot of them would be left behind as litter.
We do also have a smart phone app. Punch in the number on the sign and you get more details.

We have one guy who can give a 10-15 minute talk about not only the actual car, but the whole history of electric railways, especially in Chicago. And since we do the talk at Electric Park, the concept of electric parks gets a major segment of that talk. I had him as my pilot one day while I was still training. He would go on and on about electric parks (destinations developed by the electric railways for people to ride to on weekends, when the railways weren't making much money because people weren't going to work). He would say an electric park could be something as simple as a lagoon where you could take your young lady rowing. Then he would finish with a poem "while I have you all trapped here." (After hearing this several times, I would get into the act a bit by closing the doors just as he said that.) "Everyone can be gay in a fancy coupé; in a taxi all can be jolly; but the girl who's worthwhile; is the one who can smile; while taking her home on the trolley." And I would ding-ding and open the controller. (I'd learned that I could release the brakes after stopping and the car would sit still at that spot.)

Have to put on a show for the punters, that is what you are there for :-)
Why not try a few handouts or flyers and see how they go to save your vocal chords?
