Welcome to the next installment of The Last Person To Post Wins!

Simple rules:
- The winner of the last thread can't win this thread.
- Post in this thread, anything with legible words (ie one word posts don't count, same for just an emoji)
- Stay within the message board rules
- Empty posts are invalid towards winning
- You must wait for someone else to post before you can post again, any and all multiple posts are invalid towards winning
- Double posters must buy a round in the Seti Bar, except the only poster who can't win
- Have FUN -- strict requirement Innocent

Rules Subject to change at *moderators discretion without notice. (that should go without saying)

The **winner will be the last person that posted, when I have time to check the thread, after one of the following events:
- A specific date and/or time occurs
- A specific number of posts have been made
- I get tired of ya'll nagging me who is the winner :)
- An event I have chosen occurs (doesn't occur)

Sorry there are no physical prizes, only the satisfaction you played and won. :)

(and good conversation)

*To clarify, for purposes of this thread, moderator is defined as the Original Poster...not a forum moderator

**By definition the winner will the the last poster (unless they have violated the double-post or some other rule...in which case it will be the immediately prior poster) when I check the thread.

Congratulations on the win,

Congratulations on the win, Randy :)

*look at thread title*

My cursor must have disappeared *scowl* I wrote loads here when my eyes were on the keyboard.

I'll start again :)

I had quite a few teething troubles in my first year of posting at seti.

 - Insomnia,

 - enthusiasm,

 - suddenly having an opinion on stuff I'd never realised I'd had an opinion on,

 - wanting to say hello to absolutely everybody in every thread.

 -  discovering the peculiar political  pleasure of getting a url or ten in the eye and then attempting to pound people into submission for it with lethal blinks ... yes...

That kind of thing ;/

I'd calmed a little by the time I staggered in here and accidentally won a TLPTPW :) And I'd found there was another board too... to spread the load of my twittering.

All I can say really, is that you were all very very fortunate ;)

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

Apparently ...

not all castanet shells are castanet shells...

Can't we all just get along together?

I have high hopes we can :)  *peer into Gary's eye in conciliatory manner* have they taken the stitch out yet...?

I hope so.  Since I'm probably responsible (quite unintentionally) for any perception to the contrary, I'd like to apologise to all concerned for any ill will created.

If I were less than charitable, I'd blame it all on Annie for her *dealing with a genius* comment :-).

But I'm not ... so I won't :-).

But I will point out that Annie is perceptive and smart so I do tend to take notice of her proclamations :-).

Anyway, back to the apology.  This long running TLPTPW maxi-series is supposed to be about FUN.  So, in trying to have a bit of FUN myself, I thought it would be FUN to throw in a bit of overly literal rule interpretation.  I thought people would get that it was intended as a joke, if I scattered lots of smileys along with the references to lawyers, legal teams, riots, etc.

Turns out it was much more smart-arse than smart - and for that I unreservedly apologise.  I had managed to convince myself there was to be a final twist in the tail of the previous thread when, potentially, an unexpected winner could be announced.  If I'd been a bit smarter, I'd have just sat back and watched.

I really did think the triggering event had been carefully crafted so that a person being noble and declaring someone else to be the winner would actually end up winning themselves and so be rewarded for attempting to put someone else ahead of themselves.  I think it's extra fun to have rules with twists so I hope I haven't discouraged people from coming up with more things like that.

Cheers,
Gary.

Now I'm off to measure the

Now I'm off to measure the circumference and radius of Australia as of a few days time. I have been planning for some time in order to determine whether PI applies DownUnda. I might discover some intrinsic curvature(s) on the landscape ! Who can say ? This will take about 6+ weeks. I'm going largely off-grid, rather off the beaten track as it were. My absence may please some ..... or even vast hordes ....... ;-))

But I'm sure you will all certainly be nice while I'm away ..... so no WWIIIs or zombie abagapoxes until I return  :-))

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

CONGRATULATIONS RandyC on

CONGRATULATIONS RandyC on your win!!!

I too am surprised it actually worked and just happy to still be playing.

In the meantime I am now winning while Hurricane Irma, what's left of her bands anyway, waters my lawn here in Southern North Carolina. If you see a map I am about 40 miles North of Myrtle Beach South Carolina, so just some rain and maybe a little breezy today, but nothing special. My house is inland about 1.5 miles from the actual beach and high enough that any storm surges have ALOT to go thru before they can get to me. They build 'ponds' around here to contain the water runoff and mine is less than 3 feet deep of a possible 8 to 10 feet. It's also widens out as it goes up in height, so the volume of water it can hold expands quite a bit as it goes up in height. We have 9 such ponds in my neighborhood alone. NO swimming allowed in them though as they do have some turtles, people have seen LARGE snapping turtles at times and one person saw a 3 foot alligator one time in the one behind my home. The ponds are not shaded so any alligators don't stay if they do come here, they need to cool off when the temps are in the 100's and like more permanent homes as opposed to summer and winter ones. There are dozens of little turtles in the ponds and sooo many neighbors feed them they will come over to you if you just walk along the edge of the pond. You can see a dozen or more tiny heads sticking up looking for a handout. These are standard turtles like the kind kids used to paint the shells of, small dinner plate sized.

WOO HOO!! I  hope you guys can use the rain, it caused some very minor near the beach flooding here, nothing near enough to me worry about though, and it has moved on. Everyone is now wondering about Hurricane Jose and his loop de loops and if the models really have it right or not. Right now it's a bit cloudy outside but it's supposed to be mostly Sunny today with a high in the low to mid 80's, ie nice beach weather!!
