Those guys were just plain stupid, and thoroughly irresponsible to have buzzed an Airbus 380 like that. They must have broken every airline industry flight safety rule that there is. Why weren't they prosecuted for endangering an aircraft?
The cost of gliders is prohibitive for private ownership, much better to join a club and hire one per hour.
Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)
Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now

You can get club class single seaters which have over a 1,000 landings for between £5k and £10K.

It was on the News here when they did that, the News people pondered the same question and the response was 'it was setup in advance and there was more risk to the wing folks than the plane'.
Ok, interesting info. I suppose being over the country that it was, the administration there were happy to have PR for their Palm Jumeirah and the World Islands. They are part of the UAE and I still think if them as the Middle East, although apparently and officially, they are classed as Western Asia. I still think it was a damn silly stunt though.

Chris, considering there was also a photo aircraft in the formation, and a jump helicopter you know every one of the pilots sat in a room together before the flight and walked through all the maneuvers and also emergency exits. You also have to know that a regulator had to issue a special permit for this, because the airspace had to be closed to others. You also have to know they were also talking to each other on the radio. You seriously didn't think that was a regularly scheduled revenue flight did you?
If you have to have a safety rant, have one over the bad building and fire safety regulations in your country.

I'm relieved that for the first time in a while, I have no doctors appointments scheduled. That ought to be worth a win.
