I hope you get enough rain for it to stop being a 'special' thing! I've been getting rain every day for the past month and in fact have gotten over 50 inches this year so far!! Seattle Washington, a place alot of Americans think of as 'rainy' has only gotten @30 inches this year!! One of my neighbors rain gauge filled up within an hour the other day and it holds 6 inches!! It's a very good thing we live on sand and the ground is mostly sloped towards the ponds placed here and there so the water runs off very well.
It always sounds like the east coast gets the weather wrong or something because here in the NW we rarely get rain in July or August and tries to get up to 90 degrees for several weeks where it would be nice if it did rain or even some clouds.
Makes it easier to keep the lawn mowed when you don't water it and it stays short and brown
But once it starts raining here it won't stop until next June ????️
I used to play golf on days like this but since I am now sliding down the other side of the hill I just watch it on tv and hope to make it to the bowling alley tomorrow and survive the old timer pains.

I think a bunch of us are in that "other side of the hill" phase right now.
I couldn't slep so I got up early to sit around waiting for the get ready time and then off to the bowling alley.
Driving the wifes car since it has A/C and it is supposed to be close to 90 degrees by the time I am finished bowling 10 games so the car should be close to melting in the parking lot by then.......and me.
Right now (as usual) I am watching a tv show via satellite on the expensive 4K HD tv ......in black and white.....Leave It To Beaver from when we watched tv with a coat hanger as the antennae
Right now I just hope this quad-strain doesn't shoot me down at the bowling alley two weeks in a row.
......guess I better.........start getting ready.......

I hope your quad strain is okay too!! I see football players get them all the time and they take awhile to recover and they are in very good physical condition to begin with and have the best medical care money can buy. Not saying you aren't in great physical condition but we aren't getting paid millions to stay in shape either.

Well it was about 18 years ago but after many trips to the hospital over the last 18 made those days slowly disappear
I was weightlifting, dunking basketballs, and playing golf until I was 42 and basketball was gone first after a back problem and quit weightlifting and golf about 5 years ago so on my 60th birthday I couldn't put it off another day so I decided to see if I could replace all that with bowling.........so I bought a new ball and shoes and off I went.
At first my hamstring HURT after doing this after doing that one day when I got hooked and had to bowl 7 games.....but that is just sore muscle stuff so it went away.
Then one day after my bowling (10 games in a row without even sitting down) I tried to just plug in the heating pad in the bedroom betwen the bed and cabinet where I barely fit and when I tried to stand back up on just my left leg I strained the hell out of the quad (maybe other ones in the upper thigh) and it hurt to get up off the couch for a week or walk and now after 10 weeks it still won't go away.
Of course as usual I got online to look it up since I remember pro basketball and football players having to take 8+ weeks off and I do NOT want to do that.
So I just go a week and if I can walk monday morning then a vicodin or two and off I go.
Last week I didn't get past ONE frame and had to limp back to the car and home and I was ^%$#d.
So yesterday after 2 weeks off I tried again and the first 3 games were tough and I didn't think I would make it but just kept on going and finally game #7 I started rolling strikes (6 strikes and 4 spares) and rolled a 216 which is good even without the injury considering I hadn't bowled for 35 years before Jan. 29th of this year.
The next 3 games were not as good but I can blame that on all the screaming brat kids that started showing up at the alley and screaming for no reason
Today it was hard to get up and moving but right now I am pretty good but it does still hurt when I do any walking around the house.
YEP over the hill but not ready to just fly around the world sitting on the couch watching tv all day
It's ridiculous it's August already *glare at date again*
I'm glad you had a good day of bowling, MAGIC. The week before does sound
Quote:
^%$#d
as you said.
I've got to go out now - or soon anyway - and don't want to, but I will...
I'm glad Magic is okay today too!! Remember to use both heat and ice on it rotating each every little bit. If it were legal I'd send you some of the Vicodin then gave me for my own arthroscopic knee surgery that I never took, but it isn't so I won't. If I'd have known how little pain it would be I would have had it done YEARS earlier!!! Two torn meniscus in one knee was painful for waaaay too long!! Now that it's fixed I too hope to get back to bowling again, we will see how it goes.
Anniet I too have to go out today but don't want too either, if I put it off until tomorrow or the next day though I will be out of some of the things I use everyday and that means coming up with other options that aren't as good.
I'm suffering a blank day. It's a bit disconcerting because...
... oh.
See! Stuff like that keeps happening.

This is true.
Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

I did end up going out and they didn't have what I needed so I had to go to another store and make due with something else instead!!
I hope today is a better day and you stop forgetting what you want to do or say.

edit: oh MAGIC. There you are! :) I haven't read your post yet as it just appeared under mine, so I'm going to go away and do that now...

I hope you do too, and thoroughly enjoy yourself and not ache afterwards.
