I'm a happy guy today : won an Ebay auction for parts for my knitting machine, plus setup a second Linux machine for BOINCing. So SusyQ now sits next to KickaBuntu. :-)
Cheers, Mike.
One extra machine can lead to LOTS of extra machines as the results and credits start accumulating faster. Alot of us started with just one machine but now have a 'few' more.
I've dug up an old machine and put a new HDD, PSU and quiet fans in. I call it TheFedRedux as it is a Fedora 28 with Xfce environment. SusyQ is a Suse Leap 15 with KDE, and KickaBuntu is Ubuntu with Gnome. This way I sample the major Linux distros and desktops, while of course having to learn all three. They are all now doing E@H work.
Cheers, Mike.
( edit ) Have you double posted Mikey ??? :-)))
I have BUT since I'm the one running this game there will be NO free drinks for anyone!!
91 F here today with a "feel like temp" of 104. Got my morning time in at the pool and cut the grass so I feel I accomplished something today. At present the skies are clouding from the west and it sounds like some bad neighbors are moving heavy furniture around, i.e., here come the afternoon storms with a heavy dose of electricity.
Not a bad day today. Temps in the upper 70s. Partly cloudy skies. We took the kids outside and I didn't feel like I was going to die of heat stroke. They're painting our multipurpose room so the kids ate and napped in the classroom. I wash happy all I had to do was to get them up for their naps.
The last time it rained on me was the 26th of May midst much electric-thundering, and I had to go to Holborn for that. It last rained where I live though, about 5 days before that... until today that is.
I got soaked! :) and then I went out again and got more soaked! :) Even more on purpose, and then I enjoyed the snails appearing so they could sail up and down the metal ramp to our front door.
And throughout it all, our semi-resident woodpigeons and our other garden birds perched themselves on top of lampposts and every available open-to-the-elements perch they could find, to rainbathe too in the thundery sparkings that were happening vaguely everywhere at once :) And do you know what EVERY OTHER PERSON IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD DID? Ran indoors, went undercover, sheltered under umbrella's and hid in doorways.
They must be mad, they really really must...
Apart from the umbrella brigade of course, it occurred to me that maybe they were being a little cautious in view of the lightning. But that stopped occurring to me almost immediately. To get struck by lightning when there are so many edifices that are far more inviting, everywhere you care to look, that bolt would have had to have had your name on it the day you were born I reckon, so a doorway wouldn't have made any difference at all. Anyway... :)
It's so lovely to see you all, here :)
Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

I hope you get enough rain for it to stop being a 'special' thing! I've been getting rain every day for the past month and in fact have gotten over 50 inches this year so far!! Seattle Washington, a place alot of Americans think of as 'rainy' has only gotten @30 inches this year!! One of my neighbors rain gauge filled up within an hour the other day and it holds 6 inches!! It's a very good thing we live on sand and the ground is mostly sloped towards the ponds placed here and there so the water runs off very well.
I hope you get enough rain for it to stop being a 'special' thing!
So I blend in better? Good thinking, Mikey! Thank you :)
I'm sure I've complained about it being too wet - plenty of times - which can be really miserable, I know - so apologies for any insensitivity in that regard *beam copiously at the bedraggled* ;)

OOh, is that what they are for : trapping annoying 13 year olds. A splendid gadget ! :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...
