Hi TL... Good landing :) *step over Phil on way to bar and wave at him on way* There's an ambulance coming :) could take a while though...
I couldn't get the blue ones David :( Apparently you have to produce separate ID's for two heads not one :/ *sigh* I got us a poster though :)
...and tomorrow I'll get some lemons and... *remove pencil from ear* how many bricks do you reckon...? :)
edit: *read fine print* "Gold" ... Oh... well... that's answered that question... none... *re-insert pencil* we could slum it with breeze blocks I suppose...
Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

He describes having to apply train brakes in his job. Maybe he is the train's brake. That would wear one out, you'd feel a bit thin and be a tad ragged, and it might give one an abrasive personality. And in need of lubrication most likely .... :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

I was only joshing about, you know [ slaps back ] .... err ahem.
14 hours is a long one. I don't do those very often, but I feel tired and all I have to do generally is sit and look intelligent. Upright with a palpable pulse is the basic requirement. Or as Woody Allen said : 85% of success is just turning up.
Cheers, Mike.

Ok, the time is 230 in the AM and I just finished 14 hours on duty. My second trip back and they are already abusing me :-)
We have a saying 'round these parts, about the railroad.
"Just do what you're told and they'll fill your pockets with gold."
After 14 hours we were still 60 miles from our destination, hehe muahahahaha.
Phil
Mind you, everybody, Phil's not legally allowed to move the train an inch once he's past 12 hours on duty.
What David says is true. It's called "Hours of Service" and the feds limit us to 12 hours. I just got home and this time I was on duty 17 1/2 hours. We had a broken rail ahead of us so nobody was moving. Trains were stacked up like firewood. They were finally able to get a relief crew to us at the 14 hour mark then had the drive home in a van.

That law also applies to me at the museum. Maximum 12 hours on, then minimum 8 hours off. I think we also have something about consecutive days on, and/or days on in a 14-day period. Not sure if that applies to Phil.
