We have a new version of the Einstein@Home application ready for testing on Windows. Please see
http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/app_test.php for details of how to install and test this on your Windows computer.
This application contains many fixes to the BOINC library, including the "ATI graphics driver" issue.
Please use this thread to report success or problems with this application.

It doesn't start, version 4.79 comes on instead.
I get the message "Can't open init data file - running in standalone mode"

Are you sure you extracted all 3 files into BOINC/projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ ?
BTW,My app works just perfectly,and I can see the sphere(ATI) again. :)
Now I have to wait to see if the results are OK...
RE: Are you sure you

Yes, I had installed all 3 files.
I just tried reinstalling ("repairing") BOINC 4.45, and that worked! However, it looks like Einstein 0.03 trashed the workunits I was working in under Einstein 4.79, which was unfortunate because I was close to finishing a WU!
However and nonetheless, it is interesting to be part of a Beta testing program.
Can we edit the app_info.xml

Can we edit the app_info.xml file so that the beta application will crunch the Einstein WU's already in our cache?
RE: Can we edit the

No. The info in the app_info file is needed to help us track the outcome of the beta test apps. As far as I know the client will trash the first result when you switch to using the test app, but all the other results in you que should run fine.
Maybe the warning on top of

Maybe the warning on top of the beta test page is not prominent enogh there - any better idea?

Cool! And it just so happens that a Pentium D 840 (3.2 ghz Dual Core) arrived on my doorstep today. I'll get to test the new machine and the app all at once.
(Just because I like Macs, doesn't mean I won't crunch with anthing I can get my hands on.)
Team MacNN - The best Macintosh team ever.

One question...when E@H releases its new non-beta app, will 0.03 be replaced with it?
this isn't really a problem
