When I've proved the existence of the MonoineLairstar ... and that *sniff rumblegumptiously* could happen at any moment ... *tinker with something mysterious*... I'm going to get one and when I've got one *uncompromising stare at einsteinians/deep vacuums of space* knowing one's place *flick eyes everywhere* will have no meaning other than -> he/she/it went in there and was never seen of again, and when I throw away this monstrosity AAEIILMNNOORRST and offer you this one rectipetalitise instead, I will win for my ingeniousissness.

Until then...

I'm going to avoid doing things like r e a and r e i at the beginning because every time I do, I get six cows instead of five, even though this

keeps telling me I should, but also keeps telling me I should be looking at goatherding ... but of cows.

And I'm going to put i o n at the end. I am... you can't stop me no matter how many heavy thumps that eye flap of yours makes on your cheek.

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

6 six cows? Right.

6

six cows?

Right. Okay.

...but you said five cows, anniet, why did you say five cows, when there were six cows, why would you do-
SHUTUP!

Look, there are fifteen letters *permutate in head* 15x14x13x12x-...
What are YOU DOING!? There isn't enough room in here for you to do that. We need to convert it to something... like standard index form maybe

Ohhhhhh... good idea! Do that. Then we can percentise the ones we've already got and know how much we've achieved in the last nine days!

So... we had 1.307674368 x 10^12 and then 0.000000000025 x 10^12 divided by 1.307674368 x 10^12 times 0.000000000100 which-...

Yeah but that's not right - isn't there supposed to be a number that's not zero in front of the decimal?
Oh yeah!

*SNORT :)))*

okay 2.5 x 10^-11 divided by 1.307674368 x 10^[=9]12
25/1307674368000 times 1.00 x 10^-10 you did something wrong with the BBco-...
it's not important which the calculator says is 1.911790932954954118975282996447e-11

I thought we were doing it in our head.
We just did! and now it's being checked.

But what is that e doing?
It's taking away 11.

Oh....

...Why?

I don't know do I! It's maths. Sometimes you have to take away eleven and obviously this is one of those times.

It looks like an algebraic term to me - and you can't just take away from them - they explode. You need to find the product of the variable and the co-efficient first - even if it is eleven you're taking away with.

Oh. Well maybe we sh-o-u-l-d...

Okay! How about 3.26918592 x 10^-23 times by the 1.00 x 10^-10 = 3.26918592 x 10^-22 which means, 0.0000000000000000000000326918592 percent

Is that all?! and it's taken 9 days? So what? If we keep unjumbling at the same speed we've been doing - and don't solve it till the last permutation, how long is it going to take?

Well we have two clues now - r and n and solved another four words so that'll make it a lot quicker ... therefore... 2.9 x 10^-11 divided by 6.2270208 x 10^9 times 1.00 x 10^-10 which is 0000000000.0000000018.05836032
That doesn't look right.... there's two decimal dots now...
I haven't finished 0.000000000000000001805836032 percent in nine days.

So do we times by eleven now?

I don't know cos I don't know where it's gone...

Oh... well what we could do is... 9.0 x 10^2 divided by 6.2270208 x 10^9 instead.

Which equals 560431872 days.

560431854 days.

1535429.7369863013698630136986301 years. It's going to take over a million years?

Yes. So we'd best resume:

In orbital mechanics ( one thing going around t'uther ) there is this thing called an elliptic orbit. So while travelling along such a path there will be some times you'll be quite nearby and sometimes you will be rather far away. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE QUITE NEARBY BITS. :-)

Cheers, Mike.

Matthew 8:8

Chris answered and said, Mike, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but tell me the word, and as thy servant my curiosity shall be healed.

Henry V ( being a

Henry V ( being a math/science nerd I'm crap at ye olde English tongue, but I can spot a gory mess when I see it ) :

Quote:
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our English dead!
In peace there’s nothing so becomes a man,
As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger:
Stiffen the sinews, conjure up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favoured rage:
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let it pry through the portage of the head,
Like the brass cannon; let the brow o’erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth a galled rock
O’erhang and jutty his confounded base,
Swill’d with the wild and wasteful ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide;
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on, you noblest English,
Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
Fathers that, like so many Alexanders,
Have in these parts from morn till even fought,
And sheathed their swords for lack of argument.
Dishonour not your mothers: now attest,
That those whom you call’d fathers did beget you.
Be copy now to men of grosser blood,
And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman,
Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
The mettle of your pasture: let us swear
That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game’s afoot:
Follow your spirit; and upon this charge,
Cry ‘God for Harry! England! and Saint George!'

Quote:
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day: then shall our names.
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remember'd.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

... who did rather go on a bit. But kings do that. I mean : whose side are you on ? :-)

Cheers, Mike.

Oh per this... Yes well

Oh

per this...

Yes well when I was nosing around in that lot, I instantly ignored it. I got the impression I was going to need a few more P's and C's and maybe even G's than you saw fit to provide. Either that or my board books aren't as good as yours.

Oh rearrrlly... a middle letter or something too technically challenging to leak? No really thank you, Mike. It's very kind of you to let us clasp at the crumbs you brush off so... debonairly... :)
