I'm trying a different method of dealing with correspondence.
I was talking *revolve eyes into head* about potatoes...
heh heh I suspect if it was still hanging there when the train hoved in at the next station, some platform stalkers may have batted an eye... I would've... Several
Yes that was the other one. Well done. I'm looking for an historical event (sort of) though... the facts of which, are open to question. So it's not the winning answer :) Just thought I should mention that. As to your middle name including ooh-what-a-big-ship-I've-got*... I hope you don't mind me asking what your parent's were thinking of at the time?
if I won, I wouldn't get around to starting a new thread for a day or two anyway. My aunt is in the hospital (which took up my entire after-work time on Monday and ate into my sleeping time) and they are booting her out tomorrow, so I may be busy with that.
There's absolutely no danger of winning yet, David - so don't worry :) I hope your aunt is okay though.

It's important he didn't or he would've gone into hiding, Mike ... probably mumbling incoherently about finding something resembling a horse's head on his pillow.
So correspondence is now done! :) I have to go and feed some people... then I will be back with a clue or two maybe :)
@last post: If you can't quite carry off Bryan Ferry ooh... what a good idea anniet... let's do that next! you could try practising mischievous smiles...
:] :} :?
*Unfortunately the clip I wanted I can't find - but from the same episode: TL04 :)
Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.
I saw the Kinks live at Wimbledon Palais in the early 60's, probably 64/65.
That's not fair. It was before I was born! How was I supposed to get to see them?!
*Glare at history*
[Rub it in time on]
I also saw the Searchers live at Wallington Public Hall in 1964. They announced on stage that their latest record had just entered the top 20. and proceeded to play Needles & Pins.
Two years ago I saw them in concert at Croydon and getting their autographs later after the show I reminded John McNally of that, and he said "Well we probably did play Wallington then, but I can't remember now!".
I also saw at about that time KC & the Sunshine Band at the Lyceum in the Strand when it was a Mecca ballroom.
But I have saved the best until last. In the early 60's I saw Gene Vincent & the Blue Caps live at Bognor. Totally surreal, Me and my mates slept in a tent in a cousins back garden as we couldn't afford a B&B!

Ah yes thanks.....I think I would rather keep my hummingbirds and let the moths live with the neighbors.......but we have so many birds around here I think they would be bird food.
Been a while since I caught one in the house and I usually didn't have a camera close to me.
Fall is here so the winter hummingbirds that never leave are getting fat and winter feathers so they can handle the cold nights here next month........oh thanks for reminding me I have to go refill one of the feeders so it is ready for them in the morning!
Did you...? Where? Gene Vincent? Oh... nice! Who is he and why were his caps blue? :)
Miz Annie!!! Sacrilege I tell you!! Back in the day, Gene Vincent and his backing group the Blue Caps, were on a par with Buddy Holly et al.
Quote:
His 1956 top ten hit with his Blue Caps, "Be-Bop-A-Lula", is considered a significant early example of rockabilly. He is a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. In 2012, his band, the Blue Caps, were retroactively inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by a special committee, alongside Vincent. On Tuesday, September 23, 2003 Vincent was honored with a Norfolk's Legends of Music Walk of Fame bronze star embedded in the Granby Street sidewalk.
At the time us teenagers were awestruck that he would be in England and we could see him live. Also I've seen Buddy Holly's Crickets live at the Wimbledon Theatre about 10 years ago. Although I think that the only original one left was the drummer. And I shook hands with Bill Wyman of the Stones in the 60's when he was a supporter of the Herd that played locally. And I saw Hank Marvin on his 50th anni tour and got his autograph.
As you may have guessed I am a bit into nostalgia rock & roll shows! So many of the 60's guys are still out there doing it :-) The tribute bands are very good though, seen the Bootleg Beatles at Croydon, but haven't caught the Counterfeit Stones yet.

I liked them huge :) Hi MAGIC! :)
Oh... I loved the other hidden meaning :) cherry cola, in my view, is an abomination. Fanta Grape on the other hand... :) be still my beating heart.
What charms me the most with that song are their faces when they're performing it - aren't those the cutest and most mischievous smiles ever! :)
And now I'm switching methods of dealing with correspondence.
I've not seen that one, Bill... I will look it up though :) Before I do... how would you say his smile compares...?
Hi robl! :) Awwwwww... cream... yes :( Sad news that was. Hope you've found the album.
