You're compairing apples to oranges with your power per watt measure, because the opty 175 is over a year old. The medium and lower power AM2's are at about 65 and 35W. IIRC the 65W model's available in every speed except the highest cherry picking the productionline level.

Honza, the workunit you linked have one Opteron and one Athlon X2... no Conroe in there.

The one I posted was done on Conroe and I "updated" the table by running same BOINC installation afterward on my X2 just to prevent those skimming the hosts table :-)

I can't find any E6xxx chips in hosts table - how are they identified?

See my almost month old post - they are identified as you correctly expect:

I was comparing opty 175 because it was other machine that was on the same WU.

Well, 65W is standard for a server Core 2 aka Woodcrest and I guess it's a good comparation for AMD's server Opterons. (with 80W exception for a 3 GHz model, which should, together with 1333 MHz FSB be even faster than 75W 2.93 GHz X6800 and any other CPU).
I might have compared Extreme Edition of Conroe with dual-cored AMD FX-series as a top-end of AMD. And, FX-62 looses there a lot in Intel's (not mine) power per watt measure, overclocking potential and has trouble to cope with Conroe computation performance even in gaming, where AMD was considerable better for years (I do have AMD as my main machine for work and gaming, btw.).

I may have choosen any mobile Merom (also Core 2 Duo based) which may be counterpart of lower power AMDs - I guess they will be still lower powered than AMD yet faster.
(I would not compare it with AMD's Turion - it should be comparable to Core Duo aka Yohan, which I also tested eariler this year and it also becomes obsolete once Meron is on streets).

Perhaps it is better that every does his it's own comparation as you may have the idea how Conroe is doing under BOINC, which was my main intention.

Is some one here aware of the current status of Boincstudio-project ? It seems that there is no new development. The last version (0.5.5) dates back to july and is compatible with Boinc 5.4.9.

Hello BoincStudio has not

Hello

BoincStudio has not been updated for a while, you are right.
A new team is already at work and as precisely defined new software architecture, new features, improvments and so on.
The forum is still up, and we still answer any question about BS (French and English languages) http://forum.boincstudio.boinc.fr

We currently are defining who will do what (especially the coding part).
We are also working on a brand new website for BS.

We plan to make an official announce in the very first days of January. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, the current (yet dated) version is still compatible with current Boinc versions.

Cheers,
BHS, BoincStudio Forum Admin

Thanks BHS for the update. It's good to hear that BS is still alive and kicking :)
