Not sure what procedures are used to identify CPU, it's instruction and cache sizes: L2 should be non zero...well, 4096 Ko. Perhaps add SSE4 if it is not problem.

yes, a Conroe beast, high-end Extreme Edition. (got E6700 as well, but will play more with X6800 I guess).
Plan is to do some test I use (regular non-sense benchmarks like Everest and Sandra, some real jobs mine 3DSMax scene, Cinema 4D benchmark for 64-bit etc.) and put it over several BOINC projects, including my favourite one - CPDN - to see how it goes in real tasks.
But I'll have to hide my machines whereever I get attached due to information embargo - until Core2 gets released to public next month, no photos no results of measurement whether performance or power consumption. I'll put some results into my table and release is when embargo is lifted up. I do take those regulations seriously, so please don't e-mail me to convince me to act otherwise.
Sorry folks - wish I could share this wonderfull experience sooner (i.e. right away) but I can't (:-
I think that I can tell that is does real good job and performance per watt is not only an empty word with Core2. Means: bye, bye, Presshots :-)

Good luck with you exams, and hopefully you can find some time to 'play' with those chips in-between studying. Don't worry about not being able to tell us much about Core2, don't want to get in trouble! When Intel does finally release them to the public maybe then you could share with us your findings.

I have done a build for you: http://docmaboul.dyndns.org/boinc.rar It should detect sse4 and report some other infos ("BoincStudio: missing tlb descriptors: ...") I can't find on the web, just before the line "Processor: 2...". Could you run it and give me back these infos?

[host is no longer attached to Einstein and has no unique db record; I've merged it with other host. Got the run times written down].
btw, Corsica is beautiful...have been there twice (in 2003 and 2005)
I did have credit correction switched on just to test it and on all my Xtremlab WU's they have turned up as Zero credit (well nearly ZERO)
So have switched it off now to see what happens next

With Primegrid, Leiden, and TANPAKU it does not claim ZERO credits,
but its "credit correction" is to Claim *LESS* than IF u are *not* using it -:(
BTW: Crunching SIMAP optimized to use SSE, on a Atlhlon XP crunching with
Crunch3r boinc 5.5.0 u claim about 22 credits by WU (1 hour cpu time)
With BoincStudio, "Credit correction on" u claim about only 11 credits -:(
ps: Crunching SIMAP with a *non* optimized app on the same CPU, using
*standard* boinc 5.4.9 u claim about 22 credits too, after 2 hours cpu time !
*I believe that "credits calibration", is in need to be calibrated ;(
ps: On Linux BoincStudio "benchmarks" are less than "benchmarks" on Windows
*I Tested with a dual-boot pc (linux/windows)
