I'm a wee bit of a Clint fan. Mostly the westerns.
"Go ahead, make my day" is from Sudden Impact.
The much longer "Did he fire six shots or only five? Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?" is one of two variations at either end of the movie Dirty Harry.
In some jurisdictions these movies preceded laws that excuse/permit ( in given circumstances for the legal defense against criminal/civil suits ) the use of deadly force and 'standing ground' against intruders. As opposed to the converse duty to retreat elsewhere. Whether either are good/bad law I make no comment. I'm just pointing out the movies preceding legal changes, at least in concept. I think one reason for the movies' successes, and also corresponding controversy, is how close the plots touched some urban realities.
I reckon Mr Eastwood's best movie was Unforgiven that showed all characters as morally grey & flawed in some aspect. Degrees of nastiness. A close second would be Gran Torino with even more ambiguity. Pale Rider had epic visuals with a clearcut goodie/baddie line. Firefox was a cold war action movie and/or spy spoof. I couldn't watch Mystic River, it was too close to a real life thing I knew of. It's hard to know what he is best at : acting, directing or producing.
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

So am I Doc
I watch Clint pretty much every day since I watch old tv shows here (Rawhide) "Rowdy Yates" all 8 seasons 217 episodes
And those classic "Spaghetti Westerns" especially with my other favorites Lee Van Cleef and Charles Bronson is supposed to be what got Clint started in movies by turning down the Sergio Leone movie " A Fist Full of Dollars" so he got Clint to play the part and after that he did several more.
As far as I know the only time Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson worked together was this episode of Rawhide
