Can anyone explain why, as the only one as you can see in the link above, i wasn't granted any points though the workunit was a succes but the others did?

It was reported too late to validate. It explains this in the results file:

Oh ok, that way. I see it... However i thought you would still get a few points. Usally i don't have problems crunching in time, but i've started at the university and i lack the time to crunch. But oh well, hope they still can use my work though it is too late. However it would surprice me if they passed it on to someone new...

you can get point even if you are too late...
With this WU I got credits with my computer 217888. Deadline was 30 Aug 2006 / 11:41:31 UTC but I delivered the result 5h later.
As my deadline was over the WU was sent to a third computer which returned the result 10h later and also got credits because his deadline was not over.
If my computer would have returned the result 6h later (after the third one) I also would have gotten no credits at all: quorum built and deadline over... no more credits...

...well, that doesn't matter at all...
If your result would have been invalid you would have gotten no credits...
if your result would have been correct (but to late), the other two results are also correct and already stored in the database... you would have only confirmed an already valid result...

Too bad they don't use these results at all. I use my laptop very often, and i don't have problems with doing the workunits in time, but my desktop isn't that much in use and sometimes gives me problems... like this time.

One possible solution for your desktop is if you use it at about the same times each day, go into your preferences and set it to run BOINC only during those hours and not the other hours. This will allow BOINC to tell the project "Hey, I can only run X hours in a day so don't give me as much work". Set up two seperate profiles, one ("home" for instance) for your laptop and another ("work" for instance) for your desktop system with different preferences and running times. Then you tell BOINC which profile to use on each computer.

What would they use a 3rd copy of the result for? The first person to return gives them the actual result, the second return is a doublecheck that the first result is good. If they're the same, there's absolutely no need for an additional return.
