What do you want the developers to do? Sit all day on the forums and answer questions from everyone, or work on the code?

Since the developers here do not write the BOINC code, it is done by Berkeley, this project is just following their instructions for the code. So, it is NOT Einstein's fault these are here.

If you read the BOINC and SETI forums, this was a feature that was widely requested by people who did not know where to look for statistics. Since these sites keep a minimal amount of user statistics, people wanted more. So these were added to the user page to please the masses.

I work for Einstein@Home, not for SETI. Why shall I read their forums. I read here.
If some want the combined stats, ok, but where is the problem integrate a button or feature to disable this feature? Other way, place the links to left or right site, so the fullscreen will not be damaged.
In German wie say "halbgar" that means "halfdone", a little more brain before modifying and nobody has a reason to complaint.

They read here!

Look at the Websites and the participants, and then look here in the forum.
Many posts from them, most of them only statistics etc., nothing important or answers of fundamental questions.
Overhasty providing of unstable Beta-Applications and so on, but NO ANSWERS.

This is not against you, Bernd Machenschalk, you do your best.

BOINC has their own forums, also. Not just SETI. These questions are probably better for their forums, since that's who controls the way these pages look.

None of the other sites that I go on had the full screen at 1280X1024. Plus it only worked on 1280X1024 or larger. Those under that size had no full screen. Plus if they add the navigation like other sites have at the top or side, this page will get even bigger.

So, a few people no longer have a full screen in their user area, it's not something to rip the developers heads off for. They are just doing what is told to them by the developers of BOINC. They do not have full control over what is done to the screen sizes.

For understanding, I don´t

For understanding, I don´t talk about the Boinc Site.
I talk about the Einstein@Home User-Account page, there is nothing relatived by Boinc.

look at this screen-shot so you may understand my complaint.

Chris

The SIMAP account page is the same ie the stats links are there now, but they have their own copyright notice at the bottom.

So these changes do seem to be common to at least 2 projects.

Kind of pointless. Yes, they copywrite their own material, so?

This is from BOINC's home page, of which Einstein is a participant of:

Copyright © 2006 University of California. Permission is granted to copy, distribute and/or modify this document under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 or any later version published by the Free Software Foundation.

So, they have permission to copywrite it for themselves, but utilize the format that is given to them.

Are we talking about

Are we talking about copyright notes? No, we don't. Besides I find it a little creepy to invite volunteers to donate and claiming property at the same place and time, I'm sure Chris just wanted to point at who is - in the very end - responsible for any changes or developments.

The thread topic askes "Small webpage update. Problems?", and some answered: Yes, there ARE PROBLEMS. The page doesn't fit the screen anymore. The stats pages links are useless and offensive. I have foreign team advertising on my user page, how am I supposed to?

If you don't want to hear complaints then do not ask for problems! No need to tell I have to have these stats links because new Boinc version may require them. There's a reason why they're called "external stats".

Sure not everybody at the E@H team is involved in scientific programming. But there's few, very few "official" communication. And it's only talking about "Oops, I've just added a new fancy button to my website - is everybody able to click on it?"-stuff. Probably the real problems are known. So why is it that nobody has balls to talk about in a public manner?

So I'm here for crunching scientific data, not for asking stupid questions. I understand. No community spirit required for that. Sad and poor.
