I've recently re-attached to Einstein@home... it runs, but no screensaver. I've been troubleshooting as per this message board, so far, no luck. I've tried updating my graphics card (the computer is new!), running beta 4.25, etc...I've got an ATI Radeon graphics card,BOINC 5.10.30 and am currently on e@home 4.26. I'm also running Windows Vista Home & Student. Am I missing somethig?

Thanks,

Dave Dickinson

Graphics (at least at the moment with the 5.10.x core clients) on Vista are hit or miss. I never got them to work for me at all. Some report limited success and some have complete success. BOINC 6 is supposed to fix these issues. But it's in very very early alpha testing right now.

the screen saver was working

the screen saver was working a few hours ago. now, BOINC Manager says that Einstein@Home does not support screensaver graphics. the "Show Graphics" button under the "Tasks" tab is disabled. i saw the graphics in a window when i clicked "Show Graphics" a short time ago. i closed the window, and remember seeing the screen saver since then. i am using Mac OSX 10.4 and BOINC Manager 5.10.7

You might want to try a stable release of BOINC. I'm fairly certain 5.10.7 was never a release version, but rather alpha only.

Hi there, I don't know why

Hi there, I don't know why but my Einstein at home does not show any graphics.
I have an Asus laptop DUal core AMD Tution 64 2.0 gHz with 3 Gb of RAM and an ATI Radeon HD2600 graphics card.
I think my laptop is powerful enough to handle all this information together but what I don't get is why does not show any graphic? Do I need to do something special? I have the latest drivers for everything in my laptop.
I'm currently using the Boinc 6.4.5 version.
It will be really appreciated all the help I can get.
Best Regards to everybody,
Franklin Fung

ive got a different problem
with my windows machine, dual core intel with 4gb ram and fully updated windows, the starmap when opened in a seperate window (i do not use the screen saver function) via the boinc manager, rotates and does not stop unless i try and pull it around to a different location. but once released it keeps turning. the zoom function does not work either. this has been going on since i installed the program last year. any ideas?

Why would you want to stop

Message 21015 in response to message 21014

Why would you want to stop the sphere rotating? What use has it then as a screen saver?

The zoom works with the right mouse button. Click and hold it, then move the mouse upwards and downwards.

I have the same problem, only with the S5R5 version, the Arecibo version displays the text correctly.
The bad rendering of the text began with the Debian kernel linux-image-2.6.30-686-rc8 with KMS enabled.
