Great! Champagne's on me. Who's tipping the bandleader to play the Fanfare?

Ausgezeichnet! (I think. My Deutsch is threadbare, 40 years distant, in the wrong direction. It has holes where the threads should be and tatters throughout) ;-)

Hey, enough of this idle celebration ... Back to work!!!! :).

There is still the big result yet to come!!! Why are you slacking now!! :).

Seriously, I am very happy for you. You wanted something badly and now you have achieved it. What you did is just a reflection of the true human spirit that exists in all of us. Persevere, and you will succeed. Michael and I and others have our own rewards. The satisfaction of helping another human being to solve a problem. That sense of satisfaction brings ample reward.

Cheers,
Gary.

Not only you helped me becoming a happy cruncher, but most of all to become a happier human being.

All my gratitude

P.S. I don't slack at all, i'm waiting eagerly my EAH's results.I guess with 15 or 16 hours a day, it would be finished in Friday, at least i hope so .

Hello again dear Gary and

Hello again dear Gary and Michael,

When i emptyied the recycle bin, not any change produced in the free space of my local disk. But just now i proceed the Disk clean-up as i done it previously , and i could get some 200 MB , now the used space of the local disk is 3.65 GB and the Free space 886 MB .

The system restore is always 12%[555MB], and it say that if i decrease the disk space, it may reduce the number of available restore points. What does it mean? Would it be an asset for my disk ?

Cheers

Unfortunately, not by Friday. You are probably around half way at the moment but when BOINC thinks it is safe to do so it will download your next Seti WU and allocate some time to Seti. My guess is that it might be Sunday sometime. EAH doesn't speed up at the end like Seti but when it gets to 99% it goes quite quickly to 100%. This is a known and expected behaviour for EAH results.

Your deadline is on Thursday 13th so you do have plenty of time left. When your result is uploaded and validated you will get 68.95 credits - a nuch bigger number than the Seti value because of all the extra crunch time.

Now that you have safely reached your first goal, I will be cutting back considerably on the amount of time I spend helping and advising you. Unfortunately I have other commitments to attend to and shortly I will have to "disappear" for a while because I will be conducting some intensive training courses which will take most of my time. Rest assured that I will be watching your progress with keen interest to see those magic EAH credits appear because EAH is my personal favourite project. I'm sure I'll continue to speak with you but far less frequently.

I'm sure that now you have experience, you will be quite capable of managing your own affairs. I trust that many forum regulars have got to know you a little and I'm sure that if you have any questions, there will be plenty of nice helpful people around who are prepared to assist. The best policy is to see if your question already has an answer in the Wiki. Do not underestimate the power of that "work in progress". The contributors to the Wiki are doing a great job providing us all with easy to find information if only we will make a little effort to find it.

If you still need answers to "technical" questions, the "Getting started" forum is a great place to ask your question. If you don't find an existing topic already covering your question, start your own and try to use a very clear title so people already will know what your question is about. If you find real problems or bugs to report, you can do that in the "Problems" forum. The Cafe is a great place to have a chat but not so good for problem reports. You obviously will remember the "Cafe" because that was where I first spoke to you when I thought you were a winger, complaining about your inadequate PC. I remember thinking "This person is disrupting someone elses thread to winge about her PC when she could so easily fix the problem herself".

Good luck for your future endeavours. Please keep us all informed of your progress.

Cheers,
Gary.

Actually, this is exactly what we are trying to do - reduce the number of restore points that windows can save. Each time it saves a new restore point it eats up some more of your disk, like a spoiled child consuming the remaining cakes on the cake plate :). Of course, like the spoiled child, windows is complaining to us that it doesn't want us to take away its "right" to gobble up the cake. So we get out the strap and tell windows to behave more politely and not be so greedy.

Just go ahead and use your power to tame the windows beast :). Shift the slider and make windows accept its instructions.

Cheers,
Gary.

Hi Ariane,

It's still looking good, I see. Thanks for the update.

Einstein is sure clocking up some hours. Seti has not yet downloaded a new work unit but sooner or later that will happen and then Seti will be allowed to make up some time.

Your free space looks OK.

Cheers,
Gary.
