I think we passed the

I think we passed the periapsis during the night. I woke up with a jolt as we ran over the speed hump on the Earth's orbit. I never notice the apoapsis much - we're going slower then. On the upside I stuck a few ham & cheese toasties just out of the atmosphere to get a quick grill as we went by ......

Cheers, Mike.

I've done* Astronomy As Per Warner Brothers Cartoons 101 you see ! :-))

* That's not to say that I passed, mind you.

I hope you can, Mikey :) and that it boosts both her confidence and her stamina.

ME TOO!

Last year it happened just before we were going to see Dr. Mike's part of the World, we are setup to go this year but I'm not sure how much she can do when we get there. She has big plans but not much stamina so we will see.
Does this year's setup also include tickets for the grand prix? (At least I think that's one of the things you'd had planned last time.)

OH YES and they are already in my hot little hands!! I got two tickets for all 4 days in a covered section which should help keep me either from being sunburned or washed away from the rain. Being Spring it's prone to do any or all of the above so I sprung for under cover tickets. It's not box seats or anything like that, just a covered bleacher section near the last set of turns just prior to the start of the front straight.

One thing we are having to do is buy adapters for all the different electrical devices we use so we don't fry everything and can still keep them charged up. Australia uses a different setup than we do here in the US so we've been buying some adapters that say they will work for us. I'm hoping to plug an adapter in the wall then a surge protector into it that has several US plugs on it, we both have laptops, cell phones, tablets, cameras etc. It's a long trip so we will have lots of stuff, it's going to take me 3 days to get to Melbourne from the East Coast of the US because we broke it up with overnight stays in a hotel. I fly to Hawaii on the first leg and stay the night, then I fly to New Zealand and spend the night there, then we fly to Australia the next day. Fortunately for me every leg of the trip, both to and from home, will be in First Class except the New Zealand to Australia flight. I have an airline miles card and have my electric bill, gas bill, water bill, etc etc setup to use it so I get lots of miles. They even give me miles when my wife flies here and there for her photo trips, sometimes they give us more miles than we used to book the trip!

I am winning!!!

You have to be so careful, they are upside-down so their AC flows backwards from the rest of the world.  Make sure your converter(s) can handle that!  :)

But seriously add up your total load and be sure you don't go over what the converter can handle.  A lot of them are very cheaply made and won't take overloads.

So this begs the question, since Australia is on the "other" side of the world. Do they use electron flow, or hole flow? Back in my school days I saw arguments last for days about this. You know young minds, very opinionated.

Yikes, heart attacks! Listen

Yikes, heart attacks! Listen up people, cut this nonsense out right now. You are not allowed to be broken! Okay, damn, just take care of yourselves, ya hear? And Mickey, walks are romantic; go with her. Your wife that is, not Annie. Well, you could go walking with Annie but um, nevermind, oh yea, you're on different continents. : - )

Beer flow as far as I know. :-)

That way when the positive beer meets a beer hole, satisfactons are emitted. Negative beer is that thrown up if you've had too much with respect to the beer hole. No one drinks negative beer ..... knowingly. Some of our boffins are now working on a beer transistor, but progress has been slow. :-)

Cheers, Mike.

My hips hurt if I walk too much so I ride the bike instead, she doesn't like riding the bike so walks instead BUT she walks soooo slow and I just can't walk that slow. This kind of walking is for exercise not for 'fun'. And yes although I was nearer Anniet MANY moons ago I'm no where near her to go walking with her now.

Dr Mike I can't drink beer like I used too, which is probably a good thing anyway as I used to drink waaaay too much at times. I once drank 22 pints in one evening, I didn't get sick but did stay in bed for a day or so afterwards. I was much younger and was leaving the Country and it was then or never to drink as much as I could so I had ALOT!! That's when I was nearer Anniet then I am now...in Scotland.

Oh no it was something called 'heavy' and it was draft from the tap. They had 'heavy' and something else which I did not care for at all so I always drank the 'heavy'. I was in my 20's and in the US Navy and had just come off of a supply ship that gave us 1 day of work and 2 days off every time we hit port, so had time to drink ALOT. We would do 10 days at sea and then 3 to 5 days in port so we had a ton of time to spend our money on drinking etc.
