I thought about going to the DAR and getting a copy of the paperwork but I've never been motivated enough to do it. I know the revolutionary I'm related to is Roger Sherman, a fairly illustrious chap being the only person to sign all four founding documents of the United States. That said it's also the side of the family that ended up in Georgia so there could be convicts in there as well.

Wikipedia sez there were 59 'regicides' of Charles I. Of course when Charles II got in there was hell to pay for the signatories : John Hewson fled abroad and died not too long afterwards. Of other interest is that Isaac Newton was born and grew up during these times in Lincolnshire, with soldiers going up and down the roads all the time .....
