I'm not sure a ranking like

I'm not sure a ranking like that exists here.

such lists at other projects never seemed accurate. I'm not sure how they are doing the ranking, maybe by total number of completed units from X GPU type instead of how fast each individual one is. plus with so many variables like the wide variance in speed and/or credit earned of the different application types.

you could also always browse

you could also always browse the list of top hosts and see which GPUs they use, which OS's they're using, and which applications they're running to get an idea of what performs best.

Actually I was looking to see how far up or down my new for me Vega 56 8gb gpu was, I got it at a good price off of FB Marketplace and I'm sure none of the top hosts are running one as they are a few years old now. I know Tom's Hardware has reviewed most everything but I was hoping for a 'crunching' status not a 'gaming' status

I know this is not what you

I know this is not what you asked for but here is where I look in my clueless way.

I look at the ranking list. It looks like it might be 9 percent slower than a vega 64.

Alex Pronin has one. Not sure if 56 or 64. But they are probably close in performance anyway.

Thank you, yes I had looked there and that's why I bought it, I paid less than half the initial price

Thank you that puts it right where I want to be as far as an upgrade but not all the way to the bleeding edge, I just can't do $1k or more just for a video card. At that price point I can upgrade 3 or 4 pc's which lets me run multiple projects at the same time.

what's your budget? and power budget? with the recent Nvidia application improvements, Nvidia really performs better here, and better per watt too. unless you're getting that Vega 56 for near free and aren't bothered by the power use. even rather low end Nvidia cards like 2070 or 3060 would perform very well. no one should be spending more than $1K unless they're buying brand new 4080s or 4090s. even last gen 3090 is less than 1k now. I've even seen 3090Tis selling less than $1k lol.

something like a 3070Ti is probably the best bang for buck as it's the lowest end card with GDDR6X memory (or if you can find a good deal on the new 3060ti GDDR6X variant). the faster memory really helps with the FGRPB1G application.
