Edit: Long live the seventies... the eighties were pretty much of a write off...:)
OMG! The 80s were wonderful! How can you say that??
Sorry to offend you ...There were plenty of good groups in the eighties like when U2 who made their beginning on the college circuit.. and Dire Straits But what I remember on a whole, most pop songs sounded like folk songs with amps.. I think things changed again in the ninieties (IMHO for the better) when Nirvana came on the scene:-

Every decade had some poor groups..remember..the 70s was responsible for the Bay City Rollers. :D
You see I'm going purely for the Time Of Vinyl - you know those large round black plastic grooved discs mentioned on The History Channel. I don't have a wall full of them or anything. The writing is faded, but I seem to have one about the storage of animal feed ( I think it says 'Hall of Oats' on the front ). I also have a device that once played them - it's called a 'turntable'. It has a motor underneath, electric apparently, though I really think it's actually just done by magic. The disc emits noise when rubbed with a little thing called 'style'. I've definitely never had that! :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Ahhh... yes I remember now ... My younger brother shanghaied my turntable and my entire album collection in the late eighties when I was overseas. I have slowly rebuilt with CDs but they don't sound as good. Especially when they remaster them for the medium

Mike...I know every single one of them...But it's not really fair for me to play the game...since i'm a DJ and have played every single one of the on the radio.

I figured you would Dan! But I didn't want to offend you by saying 'no DJ's allowed' .... :-)
I did eventually find that version of 'Misty' from Clint Eastwood's movie, that I mentioned some time ago.
Cheers, Mike.

I still have an old stereo system with AM/FM radio, cassette reader/writer and a turntable for 33 1/3 rpm vinyl disks. Instead its CD reader broke so I use the PC as a CD music stereo reader. But they are selling turntables with 78 and 45 rpm disks capacity too. I have a lot of vinyl disks with popular music, operas, symphonies, etc. Some modern turntables have a digital output which could allow me to copy vinyl disks to CDs, but I consider this as a sacrilege. I still listen to the Platters and Neil Sedaka on vinyl disks.

By the way Mike.. Do you you have any Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin that collection of yours? :-)
