Hi everyone,

For those of you who want to be informed about what goes on at Einstein@Home we're pleased to announce two new ways to follow us:

1) We enabled a new BOINC client feature called "Notices". The latest BOINC client releases sport a new tab which displays all sorts of the notices from the projects you're attached to. Einstein@Home now forwards all news items (of the past 30 days) as notices. We don't yet support other notices like PM notifications though. Those are going to be added/enabled later on.

2) You may now follow us on Twitter to get the latest updates. For the time being we intend to tweet occasional updates about the project, not a real-time feed of what we're working on :-) Please bear with us, we'll read/post tweets as often as time allows.

Let us know what you think.

Cheers,
Oliver

Following the Einstein@Home project

I'm not using twitter at all as well as many russian people especially those who aged above 30 and who familiar with thing we are doing (me too) - no time for just another one social network. Just news feeds. Especially on mobile. Posting news like it was before was not a bad idea. Just if you have to move on Twitter, let it be. But the old forum news style was and is quite useful.

What exactly do you want to say with "let it be"? In German ("Lass es sein") it means "don't do it". I'm not sure about the exact meaning in English (let alone Russian:-).

In England, we might say "so be it" - meaning a slightly reluctant acceptance of a change, if it's for the good of the community at large.

Personally, I hope that the twitter feed is in addition to the existing channels - I'm used to receiving (and being able to refer back to) project news here, and I'd like to think that would continue.

Sorry if my posting wasn't clear enough. Of course we stick to the news forum. The two new features mentioned above are additional options for you to follow us - we won't change any of the existing, well-established channels of course. In fact, the "Notices" feature is an improvement for those of you who like to follow our project news postings since those are now automatically available in your BOINC manager.

Best,
Oliver

Thank you Richard. From now my English became more exact. Yes, thinking of it as a "slightly reluctant acceptance of a change", I meant "so be it". But if it will be just a modern addition as Oliver said - then it is great. It can help those who are bound to Twitter and don't have time for another feeds.
