RE: Perhaps our illustrious

Perhaps our illustrious leader (Mike) has some info???

I don't think Michael will mind if I pass on some excerpts from a recent ( 24/06 ) email I recieved:

Quote:

Fox Chase forewent administering my chemo this week because my blood
sugar was low and because they believe there is a chance that I have
an ulcer! They wanted to check me in for the weekend, but I told them
"I'll see ya Monday, I know how quickly things move on weekends in a
hospital", so there it remains.

The figures on the cancer count haven't changed, THEY SOUND GOOD, and
the CT scans didn't look bad, either! I am particularly weak, and due
to Fox Chase ignoring my reports of swollen legs in late February, my
lower legs, especially, are badly swollen with blood clots. For that,
they tried to place me on some super-expensive injections ($670/day)
but the insurance company completely balked at that, so I've been on
Coumidin since mid-April, to little or no effect. Like dragging two
hammers around by my knees, ARRGH! Pain is not, repeat - IS NOT
- a factor. Their Pain Relief guy has me on Fentanyl patches, and the
cancer that was into my liver has shrunken so much that it is likely
to disappear soon, I think. I only hope that the primary cancer on my
pancreas, which has shrunk approx 1 cm, responds in like fashion, and
my pancreatic function is restored. Until then, I have to take
pancreatic enzymes with meals.

Thanks again for supporting me and encouraging me. I shall try to
return to being worthy source of inspiration for those of us with
deeper problems, and those of us who buck the odds of nature to try to
become good, contributive people again.

So, this is good stuff! It made my week ... :-)
Cheers, Mike.

Yeah, we should keep sending him the cancer killing vibes. It works! :-)
Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) I'll pass on your love and wishes, and nudge him to make an appearance if he's up to it.... :-)

Good thoughts and good

Good thoughts and good vibrations from here too. I'm on the tail end of the cancer nasties (and complications/operations) myself and I know that well wishers made a huge difference in my morale and that's what I used to get me through. That, and the fact that I'm mule-stubborn.

Yeah, mule-stubborness and loving friends, that's the combo! :-)
