(I'm cross posting this from Cruncher's Corner.)
I have a Mac G4 dual 1.25 with 2G memory. I used to crunch about 9 Classic Seti Units/day and then about 5 BOINC seti units/day.
I'm using Deep Thought, which I thought was working fine.
But now I've been stuck on two Einstein units for days. I haven't been crunching any Seti units. Its been so long I've missed the reporting deadline for one unit that is still crunching. I stopped and restarted via the Deep Thought menu. It resumed the Einstein units.
Any suggestions?

one possible reason is that your screen saver is running in software mode (is not OpenGL accelerated) slowing down your crunching speed

Huh? There is no screensaver for Mac for SETI/Einstein, that I know of. The screensaver I do use I have set to run for only about five minutes and then the screen goes off.
"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." - Albert Einstein
