I've been finding that the Einstein work units seem to be caught in a run loop that does not respond to a Boinc "task suspend" or a Boinc "snooze". Even giving the system time to become quiescent, it does not shut off. The only thing it responds to is killing the process, which looses any computation work done, and the work unit is lost. Any suggestions as to what is going on, and how to fix it?

Next time just exit BOINC. Then check in Task Manager if Einstein also made its exit. If it did, restart BOINC.
Never just end the process of Einstein in Task Manager whilst BOINC is still running.

I think that I've tried that with the same (negative) results, but the next time it happens I'll try your suggestion.

Similar problem here. I noticed one machine with zero CPU for ages. Each time I checked it and it was on workunit "l1_0949.0_S5R1__74_S5R1a_0". Each time I suspended it to force a task switch. Finally today I decided to abort the workunit. I only noticed on this machine because I sit close to it. I'm wondering how many other of my machines are hung up on workunits that are going nowhere.
