With Windows XP x64 being released soon and AMD and Intel having 64-bit processers will a version of the client be released to take advantage of this technology? I ask because on a recent RC build programs such as Pi-Bench that are math intensive yielded 55% (AMD) and 35% (Intel) better results with 64-bit executables than 32-bit.

Amen!!!
Hellooooooo? Why isn't anyone making a 64-bit client? There's a lot of us AMD-64 people running xp-64 beta out here... we could crunch the same WU as 101X the numbers of 32-bit P3's running.... anyone doing?
Hurrooo? Echoooo!
I completely agree. I PULLED

I completely agree. I PULLED OUT OF SETI years ago because they FAILED to maximize the speed of thier application. Why should I donote my CPU cycles if the application FAILS to use them affectively????
It is in this projects best interest to have optimized versions for a large number of OS and Hardware configurations. I realize that this may be a lot of work but it's not a lot of work if you leverage the large community of interested parties.
Let the people users that have the right compilers provide optimized versions for everyone to use. For example, how about an Itanium version? I'm sure there are folks at Microsoft that are members that would happen to compile and run a 64bit version optimized for the next Windows 64bit OS and give it for others to try.
It's all about maximizing the resources that we have.
