Today it appeared that Boinc wasn't running on my computer. When I tried to open it I got a message saying "GUI Error: Failed to clean-up windows sockets interface."
However, when I checked, the file was still opening on the other log-in for our computer. I can open the file there, but not on my usual log-in site. When I checked the "always run" option on the other log-in, Boinc started to run again, but I still cannot access it on my main log-in site. What's up?
Please keep in mind that I'm not a computer expert.Thanks.

I would recommend to reinstall boinc (first deinstall, then install again).
Because the programmers are linuxers, they do not know so well about programming for the gooood Windows.

heise.de is reporting that as per last Windows auto update some sockets have been closed for security reasons.

I guess some English speaking news-boards will keep you informed as well.
Or just investigate at Microsoft for Security Bulletin MS05-019.
Cheers
i've had that problem

i've had that problem too...the fix is simply to exit boinc (turn it off)...and then turn it back on...then all should be normal again...btw...i haven't seen that problem since i upgraded to BOINC 4.25.
