Yes, however to get run boinc on win2003 I had to restart it after I install it as a service.
Before restarting, some other process occupied the network port boinc uses.
At first i was thinking so too, however.
1. IIS is only platform for others for network access (like xinetd under linux)
2. after I restarted server, everything worked fine. Still works. Boinc got it's port, and no service was disabled becouse of it.
I guess, that there is some internal service, which takes random or first free port within some range - but it's not cruicial that the port has to be fixed.

Not sure I have never had this problem crop up on any of my machines. Apparently nothing else I run normally uses either port.

I've been told that it's the IIS which uses the port. Anyone can verify this?

CCv4.30 or 4.32 has a fix in where if BOINC can't get the 4 digit port it will try the 5 digit port before it crashes.
