You should allow tasks and just let the system work ... though this is one of the projects that shows the weakness of the "Resource Share" concept because of the lack of reliable work. If you set the share to a value that is truly what you would like, the system still subverts this by limiting the work drawn (on the server side) and the accumulation of debt (on the client side).
Because of the major efforts being made to change the Resource Scheduler several of us suggested changes to make the overall system better (though it would not cure all of the ills of the current Resource Share system) but were rebuffed (sadly).
Perhaps LHC would benefit from the ability to broadcast a 'work availability' message to all connected computers. Such an ability would also be useful if a project has been down for a while.

Getting work is one thing.....but it sure would be nice if they fixed the message boards there so they worked the way they should.
I'm sure 99% of the members here could use their html/bbcode writing skills to fix that in just a few minutes.
Very annoying trying to type on the head of a pin and have it look ok.
And editing is also just a mess.
