This is the first time I have seen the WU keeps on repeating. The WU has not been aborted.
What would you do?
Thanks
Jon Haugh.

That "Restarting" doesn't mean the task has started over, it just got resumed. If you'd enable the logging flag in cc_config.xml, you could see something like
To see why the task had been interrupted in the first place, look into the stderr.txt file in the related slot direcory (beneath the BOINC data directory).

Hi Gundolf, The problem with

Hi Gundolf,
The problem with the WU is that it is looping, by that it process a section of the WU then claims it's waiting for memory. When it restarts it goes back to the same time frame it has already processed and repeats the cycle as can be seen from my first post. Each one of those restarts is it processing the same section over and over again. This has been going on for a good while. Is it worth holding on to the WU?, as it is due on the 17th of November.
Many thanks
Jon Haugh
P.S. Gundolf I checked out what you said to do, there is no reason for it to keep looping as each WU I run has total and absolute control of the system resources.

What these 2 lines say on your computer?:
13-Nov-2010 05:36:18 [---] Preferences limit memory usage when active to XXX.XX MB
13-Nov-2010 05:36:18 [---] Preferences limit memory usage when idle to YYY.YY MB
I don't think your computers with only 190-256 MB RAM can run Global Correlations S5 search #1 v3.02
- the task consumes ~200-250 MB RAM

Hi everyone,
Thanks to everyone who answered my request, I now know what's causing the problem with the global correlation WU. I upgraded AVG Anti-virus Free to AVG Free 2011 and it includes as a basic package Personal Identity Theft Protection. I had AVG Free before and never had any problems with E@H WUs, just a fluke of luck disabled the Personal Identity functions of AVG Free 2011 and the WU kept processing beyond where it would have repeated itself. So guys anyone with AVG Free 2011 disable Personal Identity Theft protocols if you don't want a looping WU. In response to the last post this machine has never given me any grief while processing E@H WUs until now. It is a Pentium III 500 MHz with 256 MB of RAM & 10 GB Drive with 1.31 GB free for paging. It can be a bit slow compared to what the rest of ye guys have, but it does process both types of WUs from E@H.
Many thanks guys
Jon Haugh.
John, If ONLY I had seen

John,
If ONLY I had seen your problem/solution on 11/13/10, when my stats started a steep free fall. By 11/16/10 I had lost 50% in productivity. I had a suspicion AVG Free 2011 might be the culprit, and promptly uninstalled it and went back to PandaCloud Antivirus. Yup, stats ramped up immediately... slicker than a smelt! I read great reviews on that AVG and thought I'd try it. My son uses it, too, but PandaCloud has a small footprint, reduced system resource requirement and works well with anything I've ever run, even another Antivirus program running parallel. So I'm sticking with PandaCloud. Plus, their logo is a favorite of my little grandson.
Happy number crunching and happier holiday's, John!
