Already made any decisions?

Of course that is not important, because we are here for the science only :)

I would like to:

1) Keep my credit.

2) If that is not possible, it would be nice, if all
users who signed on the APS WYP 2005 page get a head start, say two weeks?

what will happen to beta credit

Ahhh the beta credit question.

I dont know if I am just OLD school when it comes to development cycles of software and projects... but when people sign up for BETA projects... they do so knowing quite a few things.

1. The project is NOT stable.
2. The project WILL end.
3. The work they do is to help the project find bugs, issues and help make the project better (even things like layout and design).

That said... I still think Beta credits are just that. Credit done in Beta, and not the same as when a project goes live. Often the Beta credits are long, or short, or have things purposefully inserted by the admin to Test things out... not always comparable with the real stream of information.

That said... I can always appreciate why people want to keep their credits.

If were taking about Einstein@Home credits (rather than Pirates@Home) ... AND there isnt any difference in the data stream and the admin simply turn onnew accounts and everyone, and there hasnt been a change in the data stream... I am ALL FOR keeping the credits done so for.

Just my rambling brain here.

Okay, I admit it, I'm a stats

Okay, I admit it, I'm a stats nut. Is there an "AA" for that? :P

I find some small amount of joy in having made the first page of the "Top Participants" list. But, like Zain just said, this *is* just the Beta run of the project -- it would hardly be fair to all the other members of the public who may consider getting involved when the project goes live. I'm all for having the numbers reset and having everyone start out with a fair board. :)

We already had quite some

We already had quite some discussion about that, see http://einsteinathome.org/node/187126 . However there has been taken no final decision yet.

I *intend* to keep all

I *intend* to keep all credits and accounts as they are when we go live. Of course I or someone else might screw up -- we are still in testing mode and do make mistakes. But at this point I am fairly confident that nothing will go wrong, so you'll keep whatever credit you have accumulated when we 'go public'.

I can relate to that. That's why I am running 8 computers (10 cpu's) and spend around $65 a month on electric. Luckly my wife hasn't figured out why the electric bill is so high. :)
