Would someone please tell me, in words of no more than two(2) syllables what those numbers mean (Total credits, Average Credits and Resource Share) and why we should care? I think it shows how my contribution stacks up against others'. What would be meaningful to me would be how many grains of sand have I put on the beach, how many others have (aggregate) and how many we need to put there. Or what percentage of the task have we completed. Megaflops is meaningless to me. Progress isn't. It may not be possible to give an exact answer, but at least some measure of progress would be comforting.

Hello Robert,

The (very good) manual for Boinc is the BOINC Powered Projects Documentation by Paul D. Buck and the FAQ therein.

For information regarding Credits look here!

Most projects do not have a set amount of work before the project completes. For example S@H is going to go until the funding runs out, or until they find something. If they find something, I expect S@H to change a bit.

Einstein is also open ended.

In the meantime, Total credits is a measure of how much work you have done for the project(s), and RAC is a measure of how fast you are currently doing that work. You can completely ingore these if you wish.
