I have been running Einstein Since it started in beta. Until today, everything seemed to be working correctly.

With that said, I just discovered the following error messages:

2/20/2005 8:33:18 AM|Einstein@Home|Resuming computation for result H1_0207.9__0208.4_0.1_T10_Test02_0 using einstein version 4.79
2/20/2005 9:19:18 AM|Einstein@Home|Result H1_0207.9__0208.4_0.1_T10_Test02_0 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
2/20/2005 9:19:18 AM|Einstein@Home|If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.
2/20/2005 9:19:18 AM|Einstein@Home|Restarting result H1_0207.9__0208.4_0.1_T10_Test02_0 using einstein version 4.79

Can anyone explain to me what may have caused this problem? Einstein did restart, but it started from the beginning again. I assume I will not be getting credit for the roughly 10 hours that were lost on the project.

Thanks!

What do these error messages mean?

If using BoincLogX, you will very probably find for that WU a message "no heartbeat from core client".

The application has a I/O communication with the CC. If for one reason or another the application is losing communication with Boinc, the error "exited with zero status but no 'finished' file" will come up.

Normally, this error message does not mean you need to reset the project.
