Hello,

how is the password recovery process supposed to work? I can get a one-time login to my email address, which then redirect me to the password change screen. Enter the new password two times and then? In order to save the changes, it wants the old password entered, which I don't have anymore. If I still had that one, I wouldn't need the recovery at all.

The process is therefore flawed, through the recovery you're supposed to be able to set a new password without having to provide the old, lost one.

Or do I overlook something?

You could try using your weak

You could try using your weak account key to substitute for your password.

Weak account key

But that depends on modern BOINC server software.

You could give it a try and if all else fails you can try appealing to the project admins.

Hi, thanks for the answer.

Hi, thanks for the answer. The weak account key did not work, but the normal account key could be used as password substitute. It would just be desirable to have this mentioned either on that page, or in the recovery email.

All OK, issue resolved, it's just not straightforward.
