The advantages of living in a retirement community apartment complex made of concrete...

At 9:00 am this morningit is only -8॰ F (-22॰ C).  My windows are closed and I do not have the heat turned on, yet it is 73॰ F (~23॰ C) in my apartment.  That's perfect in my world!

Sunday (today) it will get up to -1॰ F.  We'll see what tomorrow brings when it get's down to -15॰ F @ 7:00 am.

Nah...  I don't think that will ever happen.  Most retired people like it warm, like 80॰ F, or warmer.

Even so, I think most retired people aren't smart enough to realize how much heat is retained by concrete.

I live on a concrete slab with the water pipes ietc n side them, during the colder months it takes alot longer to get hot water to the farthest bathroom in my house, we are talking minutes as opposed to about a minute in the Summer months. The floor is also coldder in the Winter months and in fact was one of the reasons we chose LVP flooring instead of tile flooring which was very cold in the winter months months and seemed to release that into the home whereas the LVP floors seem to be keeping the room warmer. We do have rugs in the bedrooms so they feel warmer too.

Well it had to come, it's 37F

Well it had to come, it's 37F right now at 11pm and should be in the mid 20's actual and mid teens for the wind chill but actual temps will rise into the low 40's on Wednesday. Thenit will be in the mid 50's on Thursday and Friday, then back into the mid 30's for actual temps for both Saturday and Sunday. A chilly weekend for me but it is NORMAL for this time of year.

LOL I won't they, like most pc's, love the colder weather and it gives them a slight break in their own cooling options as all of my pc's are air cooled.

Good News.

We are having a "heat wave" in North East Kansas (USA).  It has gotten up to 32F :)

Its Wednesday, about 4 pm.

Bad News.

Severe Wind Chill Warning for my county (Douglas) starting Thursday Night about 9 pm Local time through Midnight Friday Night.

Keep those liquid cooled computers dripping so they won't freeze up!

;)
