Hi everyone!
I'm on linux with BOINC 5.4.11.
I've run einstein@home for 2 years but I had a problem 2 months ago. I atteched to another project for some time and I detached from this project (LHC@home) about 2 months ago. Since that day, the computing is much slower. Before I could do 2 workunits a day. Now I can do 1 workunit a week. I tried to reconfigure, reinstall BOINC, but nothing changed. I tried also the unstable client and it's the same. I modified my preferences but it seems do nothing.

Could anyone tell me what happened? Thank you.

Note: I'm sorry if my english isn't very good, but I'm studying english at school. Bye!

Hi, WUs are much longer now. You may want to read Bernd's post.

We're now in a new science run with a new application. Differences in the science have lead to the workunits running longer than before.

No need to do anything. It's all normal :)

I'm not so sure...Look at the output of the partially crunched WUs: the app seems to checkpoint way too frequently (after every skypos, instead of every 60 seconds or so).

Could this be related to the "Write to disk at most every xx seconds" setting in the preferences????

Gio, can you please tell us what that setting is for you? Note there are several, depending on the location you specified for the PC (home, school, work...).

I reproduced this behavior, see here.

Gio, if you have set this preference to something lower than the default, consider increasing it again to improve performance (unless another BOINC project needs a lower setting).
