On 9/25 I down loaded 16

On 9/25 I down loaded 16 tasks and all 16 immediately ended in error. On 9/26 I down loaded 8 tasks and all 8 immediately ended in error. What is going on?

I am not a Windows user, but in Linux when you have a 64-bit OS and a 32-bit app you need some compatibility libraries. Please Windows users, check this.

All your stderr.txt

Message 83240 in response to message 83238

All your stderr.txt show:

Quote:

One of the files in the registry database had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful. (0x3f6) - exit code 1014 (0x3f6)

Not a clue here. That's something for the admin to check into.

Although the rest of the errors go like this:

Quote:
Activated exception handling...
command_line: projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/einsteinbinary_ABP2_3.11_windows_intelx86__ABP2cuda23.exe -t ../../projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/stoch_anticenter.bank -l ../../projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/zaplist_232.txt -A 0.08 -P 3.0 -f 650.0 -W -z -c status.cpt -D 0 -U kb2syb -H fb1c2ba0e970869b7993959c776f78c8 -i ../../projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/p2030_53697_26445_0094_G198.57-00.68.N_2_384.binary -o ../../projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/p2030_53697_26445_0094_G198.57-00.68.N_2.dm_384_1_0

It looks like your Nvidia card is the culprit. Perhaps a stuck task. Try a full reboot of the system (merely exiting BOINC & restarting it won't fix any graphics card errors).

For you too, the CUDA card looks to be the culprit. There's probably a task stuck in memory. Reboot your system.

General advice is this, when you see your GPU make lots of errors, reboot the system. Most problems with the GPU cannot be recovered from within the OS or by exiting BOINC, but require that the GPU is without power for a second. A system reboot will do just that.

Running on a system that you can't reboot nilly-willy (like a network-server)? Don't use the GPU on it to do work with.

SETI does accept uploads (even reports) and the errors you list are utterly your own fault (or that of your GPUs respectively).

Gundolf
[edit]You should disable GPU usage for Einstein@home, since your GPU doesn't have enough memory to work reliably with this project.[/edit]
