Christmas Eve is moving

Christmas Eve is moving smoothly DownUnda ...

Having been given 18 bottles of wine in 3 days [ I have generous patients & live in a valley of wine makers ], I've decided to share - what goes around, comes around etc - so have in turn distributed said largesse/favour. Nice reds mainly - Rose, Cab Sav, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Merlot and the like. I'm no cultured connoisseur, but I think it's a decent score. However, I'm likely to be not as think as you drunk I am! :-)

In any event I will be AWOL as of early am 27th, off to Vietnam for beach surveillance and a cruise or two. Back ~ 8 / 9 January. Looking forward particularly to Halong Bay [ James Bond & The Man With The Golden Gun ]. See if I can find a Solex Agitator and/or unfolding Laser Array with remains of a cryogenic plant. I'll wave to Maud Adams if I see her! :-)

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

So what does "beach surveillance" actually mean? Are you going to look for underwater creatures, as in snorkeling? Are you looking for unexploded mines? Are you vacationing? What are you going to be doing there? Inquiring minds want to know. I am just curious why someone would go to Vietnam these days.
Also do you take the wine in "trade" from your patients? What kind of Doctor are you, lots of questions I know. Ignore any or all if you feel like it, I am just curious.

I think Dan has LargePox!

I think Dan has LargePox! :-)

It's a vacation, "beach surveillance" I think will mean making sure it doesn't go anywhere. Vietnam I'm told is beautiful. We'll see. I'm a GP which stands for General Paperwork these days, the local doctor that is, and I now have greying hair so I look the part properly now. Apparently I look after sick people, diagnose and treat in the traditional sense. That's the base aim at least. I do tend to advocate alot on behalf of patients with the "healthcare system" ( what an oxymoron that term is, I could do essays forever on that! ) write letters and whinge at administrators etc. I train medical students and junior doctors in the black arts of ear-wax-removal / sleep-deprived-mothers / contraception-failure / listening-to-children etc. As for "in trade" then yes, absolutely. I tend to do "Robin Hood" a fair bit ( charge the rich so that I can do free stuff for the poor ), but don't tell the Tax Office because they are probably missing out on GST/VAT that way - but stuff 'em. :-)

Ah, the household is stirring .... so I'm off to Prezzie Opening!! :-)

Cheers, Mike.
