Hi,

When I try to post to the Science forum, I see a message saying that I need "credit" in order to post. I never had trouble posting/replying before. Is this something new? How do I obtain "credit"?

Thanks

Daniel

Alas it's the Recent Average Credit being referred to, not the total, an anti-spam/anti-nuisance/anti-commerce etc measure - not against yourself personally of course!! :-)

But you've just lifted off, at RAC = 0.15 I just glanced at, so you'll be fine once you get a bit higher. I forget our threshold, alas.

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) We had people registering, doing no E@H work, but using the forums for non E@H purposes ......

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

If no changes were made to the code, the minimum RAC one needs is 1 (one). Dan G. hasn't done work since 2007, so unless he reattaches to Einstein and allows work (download, crunch, upload, report and await validation to get credit), he won't be able to post in the top forums.

Oooh. How does one still get a RAC of 0.15 after 3 years, that is : non-zero? I didn't realise the decay was that slow .... his June 2010 contact must have been non-credit earning if I've read his computers' page right.

Cheers, Mike.

I'm not sure why you say I

I'm not sure why you say I haven't done work since 2007. I had a dedicated PC that ran the screen saver up until April 2010. Do you mean I haven't been getting credit for all that time? Ouch!

Hi!

No need to worry, if you look at BOINC stats for the PC that earned most of your > 90k credits, credit was also earned this year, e.g. follow the links here

http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/hosts_user.php?sort=rpc_time&rev=0&show_all=1&userid=245099.

Still, because your last earned credit is some time ago, the running average has now decyed to below 1.
