Hi I'm running Windows XP. One day when I brought up Boinc under tasks, I clicked on show graphics. This worked fine, but now everytime the screensaver goes off the show graphics window opens & my CPU can only handel that window. (So no work gets done) Is there any way to turn the Show Graphics off.
Thanks for any help Rick

Yes, simply deselect the boinc screensaver, it is not needed for the project application to work; moreover, it uses cpu cycles the application could use to crunch.
(Right click on an empty desktop area, select properties. In the screensaver tab, select anything but boinc.)

Gruß,

Yes, simply deselect the boinc screensaver

This only disables the screen saver, it doesn't disable the graphics.

To disable the graphics in Einstein only (it only works here), make a file called EAH_NO_GRAPHICS in your BOINC directory. The file has nothing in it and has no extension. (So if you make it with Notepad, be sure to rename it afterwards so it has no .txt extension).

Then exit BOINC and restart it.

Another way to disable the show graphics while using BOINC 5.10 is to install BOINC as a service. Then by default it won't enable the graphics for any and all projects you are attached to.

Thank you both for your input. Deseleting the screen saver has stopped the graphics from popping up each time & has GREATLY increased the speed that Boinc is running at.
Thanks again Rick :)
