RE: Stick, I noticed that

Stick,

I noticed that Ted has 2 computers listed, both 2.00Ghx Celerons, but I concluded that they are the same computer. On second lookover, one thing strikes me as odd, though - the difference in benchmarks between the 2, the "newer" machine significantly lower. If they are really the same machine, it's possible that it now has a trojan or spyware infection, using his net bandwidth to "phone home", or possibly as a spam "Zombie".

Upstream rates are way slow compared to downstream, on both machines listed - maybe a satellite connection?

(Edit) Now I think of it, satellite connections often use dialup for upstream.

Michael,

I had suspected they were the "same computer", too (but I couldn't figure out how that might happen). I didn't notice the difference in benchmarking though. Good detective work! And, good thought on the satellite connection. I still think he may not have a problem at all - just experiencing a BOINC repayment of project debt.

Several months ago, I updated to the 4.37 beta core client. Possibly due to an improper update (I was a little more of a rookie than I am now), my rig got a new ID, 211670 vs the original 7xxxx or whatever it was. It was showing up as 2 computers, until I used the "merge" function to integrate "them".
