9. to give service, care, or aid; attend, as to wants or necessities.:
to minister to the needs of the hungry.
You're quibbling whilst on the back foot young man!
A Minister is either a senior government official, or a local religious leader.
TO minister is to provide general care to those in need, as a pastoral function, a GP's practice, or as a political function.
To administer is to provide specific personal care as in religiously giving the last rites, or medical attention, such as giving drugs via tablets or injections, or managing a government Dept.
The English language when used correctly has many tenses, verbs, adverbs, objective and subjective clauses. Plus there is common accepted usage.

For some unspecified reasons my patients are still surviving my ministrations.,
As in none of those patients allocated to the area that my practice covers have died yet, maybe a statement of fact. But it follows that Mike "manages" his practice in referrals rather than as a hands on GP, which I don't believe. I think we all know what he meant but it was sloppy English!
Sorry Mike :-))
p.s. We'll send HM down on a State visit with a copy of the OED before you vote to become a republic :-)))

Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now
I love bacon, but due to some temporary diet restrictions am limited to 'turkey bacon' right now, it's okay in recipes, but NOT like regular bacon on a blt or anything!!

Thankfully, bacon IS in my diet. Atkins is a high fat, moderate protein, and high veggie plan. I have bacon every morning.
I've lost over 40 lbs since October 18, 2015; current weight is 251, goal weight is 140. I plan on losing the remaining 111 lbs over the next year to year and a half.

You have my sympathies.
Thanks...the diet restrictions are my choice and they do seem to be working so I will continue using them for another 3 more months or so at which point my Dr will allow me to 'graduate' to all foods of any type. I am not allowed pork, beef, shrimp, most fruits or heavy carb type foods right now, but am allowed poultry, fish and soft cheeses along with some veggies. I'm doing well and have lost both losing pounds and inches since I started this process. I do have 'stalls' where I do everything right but the scale doesn't move, but staying the course seems to make the scale move again. I've been on this particular phase of my diet for 3 months, but actually started my diet to get to this point in Jan 2015. Before that, like most people, I would lose a few pounds then feeling great would go back to my old ways and gain them plus some extra lbs back again, and did that endlessly until I weighed close to 400 lbs, so I decided the current path was much better for me!! My path is NOT for everyone and is NOT an easy one, but it WILL work for me for the rest of my life!!! And that's what is important to me, no more yo yoing up and down the scale forever!
