Sorry for the delay.  Brush/Bush Fire evacuation order for me has been lifted for now.

Rules is Rules:

1. Winner of the last thread starts the new one with a post of these rules.

2. Chooses a future event which triggers the winner, e.g. post number, date-time, and records it privately somehow (yellow sticky, etc.)

3. Everyone has fun posting until the target event is reached.

4. When the target is reached, old winner posts declaration of new winner and also PMs them.

5. Shortly after this a Mod will lock the recently won thread.

6. No double posts. Violator buys a round for the house in The SETI Refugee Pub.

7. Additional rule -- No posts that APPEAR to be blank - these will be ignored or deleted. (Sig lines do not count as part of a post.)

Addendum: Rule 2a. Winner may chose to have posters guess the trigger for an early win, and post clues.

Addendum: Rule 6a. The forum host cannot declare themselves a winner and therefore may post as many times in succession as desired.

It is starting to burn towards homes again.  Not near me yet, but near is relative to how much the wind blows.  They couldn't do air attack today because of the smoke.  Couldn't see through it to fly planes.

I just hope the fires well north of me stop chewing through homes and killing people.

That sounds scarier than hurricanes!!! At least hurricanes keep going and don't come back around again for another round at you!!

NE corner of the Olympic

NE corner of the Olympic Peninsula looks like thick fog but it is actually SMOKE so we have to stay inside until it finally rains or the wind blows the smoke away.

(I'm trying to edit the audio since that is my pc room where the fan is in the window but youtube likes to update things just like fakebook and Netscape so just mute the audio)

This is much better visibility that I had this morning from the Bobcat fire.  In my case there is enough smoke that by 50 feet things were getting white.  By 1/8 mile all detail was lost and by 1/2 more gone.  Yellow pall.  What should have been bright blue was a dull blue grey.  Could not locate any trace of a sun.  Wind shifted this afternoon and now we have a couple miles and an a not bright red ball in the west.  So bad everyone has to wear a mask for the smoke, never mind the pandemic.

Oh, mid day an about 40 pound feline visited and obviously was hungry.  Looking under cars, under and behind hedges, in corners.  Kitty - Lynx rufus - exited in an effortless hop on top of an 8 foot cider block fence and stepped off into the neighbor.

Yes the hummers are still

Yes the hummers are still here but the Rufous type left for Mexico in July so now it is the Anna's that stay all Winter and most of them are still north in Canada  until next month but some of them never left so I have feeders out for all of them and also the seed eating birds and the deer stop by to eat some grass and weeds.

The closer view in that video isn't as clear as it looks since my camera tends to always do things like that and all of the area is a white smoke fog about 1/4 mile away and closer it is just smoke that makes it all a haze and doesn't smell good either so I wear a mask for about 60 seconds when I go out and feed the little birds the sunflower seeds.

They say rain next thursday but I will believe it when it happens......I guess I am saving money since we just sit here in the house every day since March....and Ben Franklin is my friend (and I check the price on silver every day just in case it goes high enough for me to sell)

I even got so bored today that I loaded 94 Einstein GPU's on this laptop and it reminded me why I stopped doing that last year.

Ok crunchers hope all is well where you are.
