Who's Douglas Adams? Maybe he liked nice round numbers, 2 times 2 is 4 and 2 times 1 is 2.

Oh Mikey! You really don't know (or maybe you're just kidding...)? But Don't Panic, because Google is your friend!

*groan* Okay, THAT line deserves a prize of some sort!

Nope that's not what I chose for this game.

Well Robl did post a reply to Kavanagh saying he was passing the baton on, so how is it you are choosing?  Or were there some PM's no one else has seen?

I am confused.  Was I wrong in choosing Kavanagh?  My choice was the first person to post on Constitution Day 9/17.

My primary is not signing me off for surgery.  He has some concerns so it is postponed for another 2 weeks while I wear a device to collect more data.  My shoulder hurts.  But I will put on my big boy panties and not complain.

No you did just fine, I misread your post and mistakenly thought I had won...and started a new thread. After it was brought to my attention that I had not won Kavanagh is now running this game as he should be.

I hope your device gives the Dr what they need and your surgery goes forward as you hope!! I'm in the process of getting some belt level back pain checked out, it's been around for a LONG time and could be me just getting older, meaning I just have to deal with it. But I'm worried if I don't get that confirmed I could be doing further damage if it's got a problem. The Dr did some x-rays on Thursday and said it's fine structurally, I do have some age related 'barnacles' forming but not enough to worry about right now, but he wants an MRI to check for Stenosis, so I'm waiting for them to call and schedule me for one of those. He said if it's Stenosis and bad enough he can give me some shots to make it less painful meaning I can then do exercises to strengthen it and be mostly pain free doing it.

I have been labouring to

I have been labouring to produce a browsing program which explores the famous Mandlebrot set. I get pictures like this :

mandlebrot.jpg

{ I used OpenGL  compute shaders & shader storage buffer objects to then create a vertex attribute array to throw data into the standard rendering pipeline. It all happens on the video card so the refresh is real quick. After about 100 design iterations that is .... :-) }

The set looks pretty even with only three primary colours. I am going to explore other coloring schemes, and then I will look at animations ! Keeps me out of the pub ......

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

Go back to the pub. The idea

Go back to the pub. The idea of fractional dimensions gave Mr Spock his pointy ears.

Combine that with ferocious Vulcan mating rituals and this season of Harvest Orgies, and, yes, the pub would be the safest choice.
