But I found very different articles about this merger, especially the distance of the pair is very different.

##
Moreover, the duo might be separated by only one-third of a light-year — less than 10 percent of the distance between the sun and its nearest star system, Alpha Centauri.

##
The black holes appear to be separated by a mere 0.1 parsec, 13 times the distance between our sun and its nearest neighbor, Alpha Centauri.
##
[[Yes, 1 parsec is ~3 light years, so the sentence above is totally wrong, they maybe mean that 13 times the distance of those black holes is the distance from our sun to Alpha Centauri]]
I first found a similar difference in german articles
http://www.wissenschaft.de/wissenschaft/news/301198.html
##
Die beiden Objekte sind nur noch etwas über drei Lichtjahre von einander entfernt ...
##
[[.. about 3 light years ...]]
http://www.spiegel.de/wissenschaft/weltall/0,1518,611394,00.html
##
Sie sind nur noch ein Drittel eines Lichtjahres voneinander entfernt und stürzen aufeinander zu:
##
[[.. about a third of a light year ...]]
so I thought it is just an error in the translation, but since english articles show that difference as well, what is wrong here?

There seems to be a pair of black holes merging
)
This comes from New Scientist;
The black holes weigh about 10exp7.3 and 10exp8.9 solar masses, and are separated by about 0.3 light years and have an orbital period of nearly 100 years.
