Good day.
I have Symantec Endpoint Protection on my work laptop, but I run the BOINC client to contribute.
I have just received an error from Symantec about a downloaded file from Einstein@Home:
If you cannot see the graphic, I have a MS Word document that shows the screen and two others.
Thank you.

Tom,
First of all I can see the images you uploaded. Second, Symantec is giving you a warning when downloading the E@H binary application, hsgamma_fgrpb1_1.05_windows_intelx86__fgrpsee.exe. This application is what we distribute to volunteers to run, and then you send back your result, which we collate. (You probably know this).
I suspect Symantec's warning is a false positive. You can read about some of BOINC's security practices at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/BOINC_Security. If you are still concerned, perhaps Christian can give you a bit of information on the details of E@H security procedures to make sure you are not downloading malicious software. (He's on vacation right now, which is why I'm trying to answer your question.)

The third picture shows under "Activity" that "File will be left alone (Log only)" so Boinc and Einstein should continue to function as expected and Symnatec is giving you a waring about a file it doesn't recognize. I would say that the warning can be ignored.
Thanks for your help.
