suspending computation - no recent user activity

When I was running both Rosetta@Home & Einstein@Home I frequently received the above message (ie the Title of this message) for Rosetta@Home, so I disconnected from Rosetta and now receive the message while Einstein@Home is running (in between being suspended). I've set Einstein to "run always" & it seems wasteful to leave the PC on for Einstein...when the program suspends itself due to "No recent user activity."
Is this just the way Einstein and/or other BOINC programs run or is there something I can do to maximize the amount of time Einstein@Home runs on my PC?
I'm using a HP PC with Windows XP Pro, I can provide any other details that might help troubleshoot this problem.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out here!

Hi, Just a thought but by chance to you have the setting in preferences "Suspend work if no mouse/keyboard activity in last " set to 0 minutes?

..or anything other than the default "----" meaning "don't suspend for lack of user activity". This option is useful when you want to have BOINC running only if the PC is used anyway, and BOINC should be suspended when the PC is otherwiese idle, e.g. to conserve battery power or in order to reduce energy consumption. It's more common to configuer BOINC the other way round: suspend when the user is active and crunch when there's no user activity.

Thanks Bikeman! I looked thru preferences several times, but apparently wasn't paying enough attention to all the options...

Don't feel dumb :-)
Actually I find this and some other settings in "Preferences" hard to understand for newbies (like me) to Boinc.

I am not a native english speaker, but my command of english is fairly well honed due to 20+ yrs of work in US companies. Still I had to scratch my head what this option might actually mean...

POSTSCRIPT: Einstein is still "suspending computation - no recent user activity" even though I set the mouse/keyboard activity to 999(!)...and it's suspending activity after several minutes of inactivity on my part, not after 999 minutes (about 16.6 hrs). It does this regardless of whether I choose the pull-down menu option to "run always" or "run based on preferences." I guess I'll just go back to turning my PC off when I go to work or to sleep...

Roy, it should be set to 0 or left blank to disable it. If it still continues to suspend for the same reason, consider updating to BOINC 6.2.19 the version you're using now was pulled because of problems ( though I can't confirm this was one of those problems ) and 6.2.19 was released in it's place.

Byron, I don't think Einstein started doing this until I updated to 6.2.19 several days ago, but I'm not sure. Rosetta definitely did this before upgrading. I left the field blank as suggested & also made sure to update my preferences by using the "update" button under the projects tab...I noticed my settings for mouse/keyboard activity were set back to the default (or maybe my changes never took place, I'll start monitoring them from now on).

The version you have as of the last WU completed is 6.2.18, which would be more inclined to give problems than 6.2.19. If you no longer have any problems then it probably isn't the issue and the setting was.

Mission accomplished! Problem solved - thanks again. BTW, I appreciate the quick responses to my post - I've been to other forums where my posts never got answered this quickly, or more usually, not at all.
Just out of curiousity, how many different projects can be run under BOINC on the same PC?
