Hi all,
I'm using BOINC 5.4.9 on a G5 running OSX 10.4.8. I noticed yesterday that BOINC hadn't called home in 2 days and found a stalled E@H WU - frozen at just over 90%. I aborted it and it started another as normal. This morning I found the new WU running oddly - it's at 45% and says it's been running for 2h - but its been running for at least 15h. So I've suspended the project for now. Anyone know what's going on??

Cheers,
Robert

Are you running any other projects? Check Activity Monitor: you may find that it’s actually another app that’s gone off the rails—or maybe a second instance of the E@h app—and BOINC Manager is just confused. That’s happened on my dual-core G5 a couple of times; after rebooting or quitting and relaunching BOINC the timings become reasonable again. SETI@home Beta is down at the moment, so I can’t get to the Number Crunching forum there, but IIRC someone there told me it was a known problem concerning BOINC’s interaction with the API; it may even have been addressed in v5.8.x. (I haven’t updated yet, and have no intention of doing so in the near future; although v5.8.8 was officially released a while ago, from what I hear it’s pretty buggy—they’re already on v5.8.9, with some issues still outstanding.)
