Gary's excellent thread will work best if not repeatedly updated, if you have a question open a new thread.
Moderators please pin his thread.
Gary add something to warn the SETI expatriates about the deferred gratification of E@H.
(edit)someone beat me to one of the suggestions

suggestions visa via: What to do about the current Seti Server O

Hi Mark,

Thanks very much for your comments. You've always WOW'ed me with your contributions to the science forum but now I'm very pleased to see you very active at the "Help Desk" end of things. Your contributions are much appreciated.

I can pin threads and (quite independently) I'd just decided to pin the one you commented on because I've noticed an upsurge in people starting to see possible "Seti-like" problems with EAH and I wanted to have some soothing notes in place that might actually be seen. Also, the helpers can simply link to those notes if people start getting anxious. I'm actually quite reluctant to pin things - particularly my own - as it can easily be overdone. In this case however I think we should "nip in the bud" any suggestion that EAH might be going down the Seti path.

By your comment on deferred gratification, I presume you are referring to the delay in seeing validated credits? If so, I don't think there will be too much problem as the delays seem quite short at the moment and people coming from Seti will know about them anyway. With people from Classic - well that's another story altogether, so I should revisit those notes :).

Cheers,
Gary.

Gary Pined it is as it should

Gary
Pined it is as it should be for the time being.
Maybe the word has spread about the, entry lag of validated credit and RAC associated with E@H, far enough that my caution is unnecessary. From readings of post from 6 months or so ago I thought I detected an expectation of immediate gratification. Or perhaps I overly sensitive having added two new machines recently. Anyway thank you for your generous responce.
