Do you think it would be possible to create a message board or anything for that matter that would prominently display any problems that are occurring within the system. I see from several other posts that I am not the only one having difficulties "communicating" in order to report uploaded jobs or retrieve new work. And strangely, in my case, it is only occurring on a regular basis on only one machine.
I've been donating my computers and electricity for over 6 years to various projects, but this one is by far the worst in the area of informing users when there is a problem on your end thus leaving us POs spending time attempting to locate and fix something we belive is a problem on our end and even going as far as reinstalling the software in an attempt to fix the "problem".
I realize most of you are going to be of the opinion "don't let the door hit you in the arse on your way out", but personally I don't give a flying ****. All the lights are green on the server status page yet many cannot report uploaded jobs or recieve new work, so it doesn't take a rocket surgion to figure out that something is just a wee bit off color.
Just a simple one sentence explaination or report would be all that is needed. Are all of you really that busy?

All I can say is all 6 of my rigs are uploading, downloading and reporting without issue.

I have shut down three of my machines that won't download work, the rest happily download and crunch, uploading is slow and troublesome but continues. In the mean time my RAC has dropped 200 in the last few days, My pending credit has gone from 1200 to 11,000+. I will just keep crunching in the hopes that the servers will get it all figured out in the end. Unless of course I hear a suggestion that this is not a good idea. :^)

That is what makes all of this so strange. I have 3 machines that appear to
working perfectly well although the credit numbers seem to be off, but Im not particularly concerned about that. But I have one machine that has not been able to communicate with the server for over 3 days and 3 others that can connect only periodically.
I realize that a project like this is bound to have problems from time to time, but my complaint is why, when there is obviously something wrong, they can't post a simple message explaining what the users who are having problems should do, and when they expect to have the mysterious bug fixed.
I simply don't see any reason to be running a computer(s) crunching numbers that may not even be reaching the project headquarters and be of any use to them at all.
