Strange, the scheduler still thinks you requested work for anonymous platform.

Uninstalling and reinstalling BOINC was not necessary. All project files are not deleted anyway. Is the file really gone?

Hello, Jean-Marc, and welcome

Hello, Jean-Marc, and welcome back!

A question - did you take a break, a hiatus from Einstein for a while? Are you just now returning? and just now, upon your return, this app_info.xml message appears?

If all of the above assumptions are correct, I believe I have your solution.

I recall that about 3 months ago you had a screensaver problem, and as a solution, we had you install the Einstein 0.18 beta app. Since the beta is not an official application, it needed to carry with it that app_info.xml, so that the server would recognize it. In the interim, little more than 2 months ago, a few changes were made - albert WUs instead of einstein WUs and we're back to an official app that functions well. Your machine will want to download and install the new app so that it can get started crunching albert work, but that old beta app and it's app_info.xml file are in the way.

What you need to do is to navigate to your C://Program Files/BOINC/projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu folder, and delete the app_info.xml file there. Then, completely exit BOINC using the "File" tab "Exit" button, and restart Boinc.

That should have you off and crunching again!

Regards,

Michael

edit - I see that Michael K has more quickly answered :-)
also, that I may have missed a detail in your original post. Sorry
